How to Play

  1. Put on headphones - Proper stereo separation is essential
  2. Select difficulty - Choose Easy (3 directions), Medium (5 directions), or Hard (5 directions + volume variations)
  3. Listen carefully - A sound will play from left, right, or center (and far left/far right on harder difficulties)
  4. Click the direction - Select the button matching the sound's direction as quickly as possible
  5. Complete 20 trials - Test your spatial audio perception across multiple rounds

Scoring

  • Fast + Correct (<500ms): 150 points
  • Medium + Correct (500-1000ms): 100 points
  • Slow + Correct (>1000ms): 50 points
  • Wrong Direction: 0 points
  • Timeout: 0 points (response time varies by difficulty)

Difficulty Levels

  • Easy: 3 directions (Left, Center, Right), clear stereo separation, 2 seconds to respond
  • Medium: 5 directions (Far Left, Left, Center, Right, Far Right), subtle stereo differences, 1.5 seconds to respond
  • Hard: 5 directions with random volume variations, very subtle positioning, 1 second to respond

Tips: Use quality headphones or earbuds for best results. Close your eyes when listening to help focus on the stereo positioning. The sound will be a simple tone - focus on which ear it's louder in to determine direction.
