Rhythm Tapping Game

How to Play

  1. Select difficulty - Choose Easy (60 BPM), Medium (90 BPM), or Hard (120 BPM)
  2. Listen to the rhythm - First, you'll hear an 8-beat rhythm pattern play once
  3. Tap along - The pattern repeats - tap the button to match each beat
  4. Match the timing - Your timing accuracy is measured for each tap
  5. Complete 5 rounds - Progress through 5 rounds with different beat patterns

Timing Accuracy

  • Perfect (±50ms): 100 points - Green feedback
  • Good (±100ms): 75 points - Yellow feedback
  • OK (±150ms): 50 points - Blue feedback
  • Miss (>150ms): 0 points - Red feedback

Difficulty Levels

  • Easy: 60 BPM (1 beat per second), simple quarter notes in 4/4 time
  • Medium: 90 BPM, mix of quarter and eighth notes with syncopation
  • Hard: 120 BPM, complex patterns with triplets, rests, and syncopation

Tips: Use headphones for the best experience! Focus on feeling the beat rather than just hearing it. Try tapping your foot or nodding your head along with the rhythm during the listening phase. The visual beat indicators help you anticipate the next beat.

What This Rhythm Tapping Game Trains

Rhythm Tapper focuses on beat perception, timing consistency, short-term pattern memory, and motor synchronization. Instead of reacting to a single surprise cue, you listen to a sequence, predict when the next beat should land, and coordinate each tap with that internal timing. The score therefore reflects how consistently you stay near the beat rather than how fast you can click once.

How to Improve Timing Accuracy

Practice at 60 BPM until your taps feel even, then increase the tempo. During the listening phase, count the pulse instead of chasing each sound separately. Keep your hand relaxed and use a small, repeatable tapping motion. If your results swing between early and late taps, slow down and rebuild a steady internal beat before returning to the faster rhythm reaction test levels.
